The pack can be activated to provide instant cold therapy on first use, and is then reusable hot or cold.

  • Instructions:

    INSTANT COLD PACK ACTIVATION:

    1. Shake contents to the bottom of the bag. Locate inner pouch and squeeze firmly to rupture water pouch
    2. Shake for at least 10 seconds to mix contents and ensure activation
    3. Wrap in fabric cover or a towel and apply to treatment area

    REUSABLE COLD PACK: The pack MUST be activated as an Instant Cold Pack and returned to room temperature prior to following REUSABLE COLD PACK instructions.

    Place pack (not in fabric cover) in a freezer. The pack will reach the temperature of your freezer after one hour, however it will remain flexible. Place the pack in its fabric cover before applying directly to skin.

    REUSABLE HOT PACK: The pack MUST be activated as an Instant Cold Pack and returned to room temperature prior to following REUSABLE HOT PACK instructions.

    CAUTION: Follow the instructions carefully. Misuse can cause burns. Overheating the pack in the microwave can damage or destroy the product. If any swelling is observed while heating, turn off the microwave immediately and wait for swelling to go down before opening microwave.

    Place the pack (not in fabric cover) in the centre of microwave. Flatten the pack and ensure contents are evenly distributed. Heat on HIGH power setting for the time indicated below.

    1200 Watt – 20 seconds

    1000 Watt – 25 seconds

    800 Watt – 30 seconds

    If microwave does not have a turntable, rotate the pack 90ºC halfway through heating. Carefully test pack temperature prior to use. If it is too hot, allow to cool to desired temperature. If a hotter temperature is desired, turn pack over and heat in microwave for 10 seconds on HIGH power and test again. Repeat this process until desired temperature is reached. Place pack in its fabric cover before applying directly to the skin.

    CAUTION:

    Should application become uncomfortable, remove the pack from the skin and wait a moment before reapplying. It is generally recommended that a hot or cold pack should only be applied to the skin for 20 minutes at a time with a 2 hour interval between applications. Do not use over sensitive skin areas or in the presence of poor circulation. The unattended use of this product by children, elderly or incapacitated persons may be dangerous. Cold therapy is not recommended for people with circulatory problems, Raynaud’s syndrome or diabetes without consent by your physician.

  • Warnings:

    WARNING: Do not cut or puncture the pack. Discard if punctured or leaking.

    WARNING: Product must be used first as an Instant Cold Pack. After the product is initially activated and returned to room temperature, then it can be placed in the freezer or microwave for re-use.

    KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

    The unsupervised use of this product by children, elderly or incapacitated persons may be dangerous.

     

    FIRST AID:

    To be used if contents are ingested, or exposed to skin or eyes.

    IF SWALLOWED BEFORE ACTIVATION: Immediately give a glass of milk or water and contact Poisons Information Centre 13 11 26.

    IF SWALLOWED AFTER ACTIVATION: Immediately give a glass of milk or water. First aid is not generally required. If in doubt, contact Poisons Information Centre or a doctor.

    EYE CONTACT: Wash out immediately with fresh running water. Ensure complete irrigation of the eye by keeping eyelids apart and away from eye and moving the eyelids by occasionally lifting the upper and lower lids. If pain persists or recurs, seek medical attention. Removal of contact lenses after an eye injury should only be undertaken by skilled personnel.

    SKIN CONTACT: Wash skin with running water (and soap if available). Seek medical attention in event of irritation.
